How We Review Clinics

Choosing the right clinic is the single most important decision an international patient makes. This page explains the standards and criteria Healt İn Turkey uses when assessing and comparing clinics — and what we encourage every patient to check.

Our review criteria

When we assess and compare clinics for our guides and referrals, we look for the following:

  • Licensing. The clinic or hospital must be licensed and authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health.
  • Accreditation. We give weight to facilities holding recognised accreditation, such as JCI (Joint Commission International), and to surgeons certified by the relevant Turkish specialty boards.
  • Qualified specialists. Procedures should be performed by a qualified, board-certified specialist with genuine experience in that specific treatment — not by a general practitioner.
  • Transparent pricing. The clinic should provide a clear, itemised, written quote with no hidden costs.
  • Honest consultation. A good clinic assesses each patient individually, sets realistic expectations and is willing to say when a treatment — or a patient — is not suitable.
  • Aftercare. There should be a clear plan for follow-up and support once the patient returns home.
  • Communication. Clear, responsive communication in the patient’s language, before and after treatment.

Red flags we warn patients about

  • Prices far below the market — a quote that looks too good often excludes the hospital fee, anaesthetist, medication or aftercare.
  • Pressure to book quickly, or guarantees of a “perfect” result. No responsible clinic can promise outcomes.
  • No in-person assessment before treatment, or no named, qualified surgeon.
  • Unwillingness to provide a written quote or to explain the risks.

What we can and cannot guarantee

Our criteria are a framework to help patients evaluate clinics — they are a starting point, not a substitute for your own due diligence. Healt İn Turkey does not operate, own or control any clinic, and we cannot guarantee the outcome of any treatment. Medical results depend on many factors, including each patient’s individual health and anatomy.

We encourage every patient to verify a clinic’s licensing and a surgeon’s credentials directly, to ask for genuine before-and-after results, and to take the time they need before making a decision.

Your role as a patient

The safest outcomes come from informed patients. Use our treatment guides to understand your options, ask every question on our checklists, and never feel rushed. If anything is unclear, ask again — a good clinic will welcome your questions.
